After two successful concerts in Slovakia our RE-PATCED team continued their tour in Budapest, Hungary. On 14th of November the program of the concert was presented to the audience in Három Holló / Three Ravens at the event “POLISH BLOOD (NEVER FAILED ME YET)“.
The “RE-PATCHED” concert focuses on Schaeffer’s open scores, presenting legendary works such as the *NonStop* graphic score, which allows performers free interpretation and improvisation, transforming the piece into a constantly evolving work where the boundaries between musical and visual arts blur. Schaeffer was an interdisciplinary artist who created not only in music and theater but also in the visual arts. The concert will also feature graphics that were originally not intended as musical works.
In addition to Bogusław Schaeffer’s compositions, pieces composed by members of the RE-Patched ensemble, paying homage to the Polish composer, were also performed.
The program selection for the concert was preceded by a year of research, where we studied Schaeffer’s compositional methods and electronic music work with experts like Marek Chołoniewski, a Polish composer and electroacoustic artist, and Paul Pignon, a composer and clarinetist based in Sweden and Serbia. Pignon developed his unique patch, *The Creature*, in the Belgrade Radio Electronic Studio, creating rich sound possibilities for his improvisations with the EMS Synthi 100, aiming to expand the boundaries of electronic music.
The concert was organised by our partner PRO PROGERSSIONE from Budapest, Hungary with the kind support of Polish Institute, Czech Center Budapest, Visegrad Fund.
